The Last 3 Months Before Board Exams: An Effective Study Plan
The final three months before board exams determine how the whole year's effort pays off. This is the time to focus less on learning new topics and more on organizing what's already been studied — and sharpening exam-taking skills.
Month 1: Cover the entire syllabus once
The goal in the first month is a fast revision of the entire syllabus — key concepts, formulas, and diagrams for every chapter. Clearing new doubts is still important at this stage, but avoid learning brand-new content. Build chapter-wise short notes that will be useful for quick revision later.
Month 2: Focused practice on weak areas
By now you should know which chapters are weak. Spend extra time on exactly those this month. Also start subject-wise weekly mock tests — this practices an exam-like environment and improves time management.
- Take one full-length mock test every weekend
- After each test, analyze the mistakes — was it careless, or a concept gap?
- Keep a short list of weak chapters and give them extra practice
- Prioritize high-weightage chapters (check previous year papers to see the pattern)
Month 3: Pure revision and previous year papers
In the final month, don't learn anything new. Just revise your short notes and solve as many previous year or sample papers as possible, timed. This builds the most exam-day confidence.
Don't ignore health and sleep
Cutting sleep under last-minute pressure is one of the most common mistakes — but it reduces both retention and concentration. 7 hours of sleep, light exercise, and a balanced diet are just as much a part of exam performance as studying itself.
At Disha Class, we follow exactly this structured approach for the last 3 months — weekly tests, chapter-wise doubt sessions, and personalized weak-area tracking, so every student can give their best in the exam.
